Army Dyed Knit Undershirt

Original German undershirt that was batch dyed to a field green color. This was likely a civilian white undershirt that was dyed green with a bunch of other guys underwear to make them stand out less. This was a common practice especially later in the war as German soldiers hanging up their laundry could normally be spotted from the air relatively easily as many used civilian white undergarments. The dyed job was not well done, but it served its purpose. This was taken from a pile of other wool military garment items that came from a cloth recycler it was mixed in with a lot of other pieces of German uniforms, gloves, sweaters, socks, toques, etc... Very few pieces were still whole enough to save, but this was still in one piece.
